Start a Daycare Business

One way to work from home is to become a daycare provider. Daycare services are in demand more than ever due to the fact that both parents need to go out and work decause of current economic conditions.

The most important qualification is for you to like to take care of children. Remember liking children and liking to take care of children are two seperate things.

Decide what type of children you want to take care of and study up on them. Taking care of babies is far different than taking care of toddlers. Make sure you do your homework as parents will ask questions.

Find out if your jurisidiction requires any certifications or licensing. They may specifiy physical space requirements or limits of how many children you can take care of.

Research how much the going rate is to take care of the type of children you'll be watching.

Now you're ready to get some clients. Like always it best to ask friends and family first and have them ask their friends and family. Other ways to get clients are through lists like angieslist.com and craigslist.org. Posting an ad in your church bulletin or passing flyers in the neighborhood are other ways as well.

The book below is a very good resource for a daycare business.
